In the last few years, the kefir diet has not left the top positions in the popularity charts. Reviews of it are very, very positive. And that's quite understandable. It is not often that you meet a mono-diet, the main component of which can almost completely satisfy the body's needs for basic nutrients. Really look at the composition of kefir - it contains proteins and carbohydrates (and carbohydrates of animal origin - which is generally very rare) and saturated fats, necessary for the body to absorb fat-soluble vitamins and form sex hormones.
At the same time, kefir is a fermented milk product, which means that intolerance to lactose (the "milk sugar" found in milk) will no longer be a problem. A diet with kefir will allow you to improve the work of the gastrointestinal tract by introducingbeneficial bacteria in the intestines (however, if you suffer from ulcers or other diseases of the digestive system, then such a diet is contraindicated for you).
But of course, you should understand that the content of proteins, fats and carbohydrates is not the only condition to call a diet effective and safe. As with any other diet, vitamin intake is necessary because by depriving yourself of certain types of food, you are depriving yourself of the vitamins and minerals they contain.
How much weight can you lose in 3 days, in a week, in 10 days?
I fully understand that this is the most important question, because before making sacrifices, we all want to know what benefits we will get in the end. I will disappoint you, there are no specific numbers, it all depends on what kind of shape you are in at the moment. There are at least 2 options here:
- If your height is 170 cm and your weight is 110 kg, then you have obviously gained 40-50 extra kilograms. In this case, you can easily lose weight by 1-1. 5 kg per day on a kefir diet and lose 7 or even 10 kg per week.
- But if you are a sports girl who, with a height of 170 cm, decided to lose weight to 55 kg with the current 65 kg, then be prepared for a longer work.
In the first case, the weight will disappear quickly due to the loss of a large amount of fluid contained in the body due to the oxidation of visceral fat (this is the fat that surrounds the internal organs) and the simultaneous loss of muscles.
And in the second case, the body does not actually have excess fat. All it has is a little subcutaneous, which is a strategic reserve of energy for the body that it will part with only as a last resort. You should not count on losing all 10 kg in one week on kefir. Maximum 3 kg. Because your body doesn't have excess fluid, and if you exercise, it won't give up muscle.
Kefir diet for 7 days and minus 10 kg?
A very popular question on the internet. As I already explained, such a result is indeed possible, but for this you need to be really, really big. I would like to look at the question from a slightly different angle: which version of the kefir diet is the most popular and why you should never try it.
Today, the most common version of the kefir diet involves consuming one and a half liters of kefir per day. Also, depending on the length of the diet, small portions of meat or vegetables can be added to the diet.
Let's find out how long it will take us to end up in a hospital bed following such a menu.
We will consider the question from the point of view of calorie content. I honestly don't believe in counting calories, but in this case, this will be an example.
If you have a sedentary job and don't move much, your body burns about 1000 kcal a day. He needs them to maintain brain function, to maintain the functionality of internal processes such as breathing, blood supply, digestion and sometimes picking up a spoon.
100 grams of kefir contains 50 kcal, which means that if you drink 1. 5 liters of kefir per day and do not eat more food, you will get a maximum of 750 kcal per day. And you need at least 1000 kcal. Which organ will the body begin to conserve without providing energy? I don't want to check this.
Yes, if you want to try, then, of course, no one will stop you, but if you drink only kefir for more than three days in a row, then you will continue to lose weight in the hospital under a glucose drip.
Therefore, if we talk about the kefir diet, then we should not focus only on it.
Let's look at the options for diets with kefir, which include the use of other products
Kefir diet with apple
A popular combination. But pointless. An apple is fructose, which is roughly the same as carbohydrates. And excess carbohydrates, as we know, are a shortcut to fat accumulation. The consumption of apples with kefir does not give a cumulative effect. And the apple appears here only because it is the most non-allergenic and year-round fruit. You can also write about the kefir diet with banana, pear or mango. But we are all more familiar with the apple. So they write about it from time to time, gradually turning it into some kind of super healthy weight loss product. And vegetables are much more effective in this regard.
Kefir diet with buckwheat
It's warmer now. Buckwheat is one of those carbohydrates that are called "long-lasting". They do not immediately give all their energy to the body, but do so gradually, without causing sudden spikes in blood sugar levels. To be fair, it should be noted, that not only buckwheat has a similar effect. And oats and pearl barley and barley have the same properties. Therefore, you should not focus only on buckwheat, the more varied the menu, the better.
Kefir diet with meat
But this is not very good. As we have already said, kefir is a product of animal origin. With a kefir diet, you already get a lot of animal protein and fat. There is no need to overload the liver and kidneys with the same thing. In addition, the kefir diet can heal your pancreas (or rather, the body itself will heal it during the period of avoiding fatty foods), and the addition of meat will cancel such a pleasant side effect. That is why you should not dilute your diet with boiled or even fried meat. Maybe just fish. But very rarely. No more than once a week.
And now that we have already acquired a little theory, let's create our ideal kefir-based menu, which you can endure long enough to get the expected effect, and without harming yourself.
Kefir diet. menu for the week
No, of course, you can last 2 weeks on such a menu, and some even a month, but practice shows that the most noticeable result comes exactly in the first week. Then the effect sharply decreases.
breakfast
This is the time when we can eat carbs and nothing will happen to us for it. So we'll eat porridge for breakfast. As we already understood, it could be anyone. Buckwheat, barley, oats. A piece of butter won't hurt at all. The main thing to remember is that porridge should be cooked from cereals, and not from an instant bag.
The drink will be either water or unsweetened tea or coffee.
Lunch
Kefir. A glass or two. To reduce the feeling of hunger.
Dinner
We will have a vegetable salad for lunch. Ideally, it will be made from cabbage or cucumbers and tomatoes. These are those vegetables that mainly contain fiber to support normal digestion and do not contain starch, which is a fast carbohydrate. You can also add vegetables to the salad: arugula, sorrel, etc. A Greek salad would also be a very good choice. You can drink unsweetened tea or coffee.
Everything. Here comes the turning point. After lunch, only kefir is on your menu. There is no need to limit yourself to certain servings and application times. We felt a headache and drank a glass of kefir. And it doesn't matter how many cups you get a day. It doesn't matter what time you drink it. The main thing is not to feel hungry. This is a very important point. Do not let your body know that you are on a diet, otherwise it will deliberately slow down your metabolism and the effectiveness of the diet will decrease sharply.
It is very important to drink plain water. It's easy to miss this point on a kefir diet. Therefore, set a precise time for drinking water. Ideally, one glass immediately after waking up, one shortly before lunch and two glasses before going to bed.
That is all. The further path depends only on you. As long as you can endure this, dare I say it, meager menu, you can only lose so much weight. On average, this is 3-4 kg per week.
Just remember one thing: no diet makes sense if after it you start eating the same way as before.
My advice is to gradually return to normal food after the kefir diet. Leave the vegetables for lunch, but add meat broth to them. Remove kefir from dinner, but replace it not with carbohydrates, but with protein foods: meat, fish, eggs. By gradually transitioning to regular food, you can maintain the achieved results and choose a diet that will be both tasty and healthy for you in the future.
P. S. There is no need to blindly copy what is offered to you as a universal recipe. Take a few hours of your time, but create a menu that suits you. An individual approach always guarantees results!
